As I was starting to think of ideas to share, I though it would be nice to build this newsletter with some of the tools that I’ve found (and used) over the past year and that I think are quite amazing. For the name of the Newsletter I used namelix an app developed to create business names with the assistance of A.I. and a few key words. The logo was created with Brandmark (parent company of Namelix) and as you can see both are great!
I also used Frase to create the slogan / intro to the newsletter. As you can see Artificial Intelligence is getting amazing results and everyday there are more and more implementations for it.
One of my favorite experiments with A.I. is the Twitter Profile “This person does not exist” that uses a GAN (generative adversarial network) to create headshots and background stories for each person they “create”.
Obviously innovation, as I stated in the title its not just about something happening, its about the road that takes us from where we are now to the future. I truly believe that in the case of AI there will be a lot of applications that will change the way we interact with each other, work, study and ultimately live our lives.
From healthcare to R&D, artificial intelligence is changing the way we find solutions for new (and old) challenges, and I truly believe that, in order to fully leverage the possibilities behind this, we need to change our minds and the way we perceive these interactions.
This applies to many new technologies, trends and ideas, an open mind will help to view things from a different perspective.
TECH LAUNCHES - Amazon’s Astro
Described as a “household robot for home monitoring” Astro is basically an Alexa on wheels. The robot uses Intelligent Motion technology that allows it to find its way around and go anywhere its needed. Usually I’m quite excited for robots and new technologies, but for me, there has to be a Job to Be Done or a need to be covered for a technology to be adopted, and quite frankly, I don’t see one for astro.
Even when home security has been a rising need in the US and other key markets, I don’t see how a moving robot can outperform cameras or other systems. Perhaps other functions can make it “interesting” but for now this is a hard pass for me. But let me know what you think in the comments, perhaps I’m missing something.
